Why donate to the Powell River Community Foundation?

Community foundations accept a wide variety of assets, providing flexible options that offer donors maximum tax advantage. These are just a few of the reasons to consider donating to PRCF:

Endowment Building & Personalized Service

We build endowments and other funds to provide lasting support for local priorities. We make giving easy and effective, accepting a wide variety of gifts and providing donors with a number of charitable options. One can contribute cash, stocks, property and other assets. A fund may be established in the donor’s name, in the name of a loved one or in the name of a memorable event. In most cases, gifts qualify for maximum tax advantage under federal law.

Local Grant Making Expertise

Our foundation’s volunteers have an in-depth understanding of the issues, opportunities, and resources that shape our community. We evaluate all aspects of community well-being -- including social serves, education, the environment, health care, seniors, and the arts. We can help you learn more about local organizations and programs that make a difference in areas you care about.

02

Community Leadership

Because community foundations support all kinds of charities, we are well positioned to bring people and organizations together, convening diverse voices to address local issues and opportunities. Our business is building community.

FOR PROFESSIONAL ADVISORS

Community Foundations of Canada offers a wide variety of resources for professional advisors who would like to discuss philanthropic giving with their clients. Their Professional Advisors eResource document can offer advisors a comprehensive source of information on the topic.

“The professional advisor plays a singularly important role in helping the client create and realize a personal philanthropic vision. Helping a client realize a philanthropic vision provides an opportunity for professional advisors to do what they do best – identify creative solutions that help their clients solve problems and achieve specific objectives.

When the professional advisor displays the full range of charitable planning options available to a client, the philanthropist locked inside that client will have a chance to emerge. Taking an active approach can build deeper, richer client relationships, enhance client loyalty, and strengthen the perception of better service. It often helps position the advisor and the firm as community-minded.”
